Why Choose the Seekins Havak Pro Hunter 2?
The Havak Pro Hunter 2 is Seekins Precision’s answer to hunters who want a match-grade rifle they can actually carry up a mountain. It is built on the Havak action, machined by Seekins in Lewiston, Idaho, and set in a carbon composite stock that keeps weight down without giving up rigidity. A detachable magazine makes loading and unloading quick at the truck or in the field, and the integral Picatinny rail gives your optic a solid, repeatable base.
Seekins designs and manufactures its actions, rails and key components in-house, so the parts that matter most for accuracy are held to the same tight tolerances from rifle to rifle. The result is a factory rifle that feels like a custom build, with a crisp trigger, a smooth bolt and the kind of consistency that gives you confidence on the shot that counts.
6.5 PRC Performance
Hornady’s 6.5 PRC (Precision Rifle Cartridge) takes everything shooters like about the 6.5 Creedmoor and adds roughly 200 feet per second. It fits a short magnum-length action, burns powder efficiently and pushes heavy 143 to 156 grain bullets with a flat trajectory that forgives small range-estimation errors. Recoil stays manageable, which is why the 6.5 PRC has become a favorite of western hunters chasing mule deer, sheep and elk, and of competitors who want extra wind performance without stepping up to a full-size magnum.
Barrel, Finish and Trigger
This rifle uses a 24″ threaded barrel, so you can add a suppressor or muzzle brake where they are legal. Mountain Shadow camo blends grays and muted earth tones to break up the rifle’s outline against rock, timber and high country.
Who Is the Seekins Havak Pro Hunter 2 6.5 PRC Mountain Shadow For?
This is an outstanding choice for whitetail and mule deer, pronghorn, hogs and black bear, and it has the accuracy to double as a long-range target rifle. The 6.5 PRC is easy on the shoulder, which means more time practicing and better shot placement when it counts.
Setting Up Your Rifle
Most shooters top the Seekins Havak Pro Hunter 2 6.5 PRC Mountain Shadow with a quality riflescope in the 3-15x to 5-25x range, depending on how far they expect to shoot. The integral Picatinny rail gives you a rigid, repeatable mounting point; pair it with a set of Seekins scope rings or a one-piece mount so everything is machined to the same high standard. Keep a spare Seekins 6.5 PRC Magazine loaded in your pack so you are never caught short. A solid bipod, a rear bag and a good sling complete the setup.

You can learn more about the rules on the ATF firearms page and on our FFL transfer guide. Please confirm that this rifle and its magazine capacity are legal where you live before ordering.
