Why Choose the Seekins Havak Slam?
The Havak Slam is the lightest, most specialized rifle in the Seekins lineup. Its skeletonized carbon fiber stock strips away everything that is not needed, and fluted, threaded barrels keep the rifle short and nimble for mountain and backcountry hunts. A receiver rail with a built-in bubble level helps you stay plumb on steep, uneven ground where a canted rifle causes missed shots.
This is a rifle for hunters who already know the value of every ounce: sheep and goat hunters, long-distance backpack hunters and anyone who wants top-tier accuracy in the lightest package Seekins builds.
7mm PRC Performance
Hornady introduced the 7mm PRC in 2022 to give hunters a modern 7mm magnum designed around today’s long, high-BC bullets. It shoots 175 to 180 grain projectiles at excellent velocity with less recoil than a .30 caliber magnum, making it a natural fit for elk, mule deer and other big game in open country. Consistent factory ammunition and a well-thought-out case design make repeatable, tight groups easy to achieve.
Barrel, Finish and Trigger
This rifle uses a 22″ threaded barrel, so you can add a suppressor or muzzle brake where they are legal. Mountain Shadow camo blends grays and muted earth tones to break up the rifle’s outline against rock, timber and high country.
Who Is the Seekins Havak Slam 7mm PRC Mountain Shadow For?
This rifle is aimed squarely at big game. The 7mm PRC has the energy and reach for elk, moose, mule deer and bears, and it lets you take ethical shots at distances where lighter cartridges start to run out of steam. Pair it with good bullets and plenty of practice and it will handle almost any North American hunt.
Setting Up Your Rifle
To get the most out of your Seekins Havak Slam 7mm PRC Mountain Shadow, start with good glass and good mounting. The integral Picatinny rail accepts any quality Picatinny rings, and we stock a full line of Seekins rings and mounts in 30mm, 34mm and 35mm. Spare magazines are available in our magazine section. Add a bipod for prone shooting and a comfortable sling for carrying, and you are ready for the range or the field.
Ordering and FFL Shipping
Because this is a firearm, federal law requires it to ship to a licensed dealer (FFL) near you rather than to your home. At checkout, add the FFL you want to use, or contact us and we will help you find one. Your dealer completes the transfer paperwork and background check before you take possession. You can learn more about the rules on the ATF firearms page and on our FFL transfer guide. Please confirm that this rifle and its magazine capacity are legal where you live before ordering.
Seekins Havak Slam 7mm PRC Mountain Shadow FAQ
What is the Seekins Havak Slam 7mm PRC Mountain Shadow best used for?
If your plans include elk in dark timber, mule deer across a canyon or moose in the north woods, this rifle has the power to do the job cleanly. A magnum-class cartridge like the 7mm PRC carries energy far downrange, which gives you more margin when wind and distance complicate the shot.
What scope rings fit this rifle?
It uses an integral Picatinny rail, so any quality Picatinny rings work. Match the ring diameter to your scope tube (30mm, 34mm or 35mm) and choose the lowest height that clears the objective bell. Browse our Seekins scope rings and mounts for matching options.
Can this rifle ship directly to my home?
No. Firearms ship to a federally licensed dealer (FFL) of your choice, where you complete the transfer.
How many rounds does the magazine hold?
The rifle comes with a 3-round detachable magazine. Spare magazines are available in our magazine section.
