Why Choose the Seekins Havak Slam?
The Havak Slam is the lightest, most specialized rifle in the Seekins lineup. Its skeletonized carbon fiber stock strips away everything that is not needed, and fluted, threaded barrels keep the rifle short and nimble for mountain and backcountry hunts. A receiver rail with a built-in bubble level helps you stay plumb on steep, uneven ground where a canted rifle causes missed shots.
This is a rifle for hunters who already know the value of every ounce: sheep and goat hunters, long-distance backpack hunters and anyone who wants top-tier accuracy in the lightest package Seekins builds.
6.5 PRC Performance
Hornady’s 6.5 PRC (Precision Rifle Cartridge) takes everything shooters like about the 6.5 Creedmoor and adds roughly 200 feet per second. It fits a short magnum-length action, burns powder efficiently and pushes heavy 143 to 156 grain bullets with a flat trajectory that forgives small range-estimation errors. Recoil stays manageable, which is why the 6.5 PRC has become a favorite of western hunters chasing mule deer, sheep and elk, and of competitors who want extra wind performance without stepping up to a full-size magnum.
Barrel, Finish and Trigger
This rifle uses a 21″ threaded barrel, so you can add a suppressor or muzzle brake where they are legal. Mountain Shadow camo blends grays and muted earth tones to break up the rifle’s outline against rock, timber and high country.
Who Is the Seekins Havak Slam 6.5 PRC For?
Think of this rifle as the one you grab most often. The 6.5 PRC handles deer, pronghorn, hogs and predators with ease, it is pleasant to shoot at the range, and it has the precision to stretch out to long distances on steel when you want a challenge.
Setting Up Your Rifle
To get the most out of your Seekins Havak Slam 6.5 PRC, start with good glass and good mounting. The integral Picatinny rail accepts any quality Picatinny rings, and we stock a full line of Seekins rings and mounts in 30mm, 34mm and 35mm. Spare magazines are available in our magazine section. Add a bipod for prone shooting and a comfortable sling for carrying, and you are ready for the range or the field.
Ordering and FFL Shipping
Because this is a firearm, federal law requires it to ship to a licensed dealer (FFL) near you rather than to your home. At checkout, add the FFL you want to use, or contact us and we will help you find one. Your dealer completes the transfer paperwork and background check before you take possession. You can learn more about the rules on the ATF firearms page and on our FFL transfer guide. Please confirm that this rifle and its magazine capacity are legal where you live before ordering.
