Why Choose the Seekins Havak Pro Hunter 2?
The Havak Pro Hunter 2 is Seekins Precision’s answer to hunters who want a match-grade rifle they can actually carry up a mountain. It is built on the Havak action, machined by Seekins in Lewiston, Idaho, and set in a carbon composite stock that keeps weight down without giving up rigidity. A detachable magazine makes loading and unloading quick at the truck or in the field, and the integral Picatinny rail gives your optic a solid, repeatable base.
Seekins designs and manufactures its actions, rails and key components in-house, so the parts that matter most for accuracy are held to the same tight tolerances from rifle to rifle. The result is a factory rifle that feels like a custom build, with a crisp trigger, a smooth bolt and the kind of consistency that gives you confidence on the shot that counts.
6mm Creedmoor Performance
The 6mm Creedmoor is the cartridge that took over precision rifle competition. Built on the 6.5 Creedmoor case necked down to .243, it launches sleek 105 to 115 grain bullets with very little recoil, so you can watch your own impacts through the scope and correct quickly. Away from the match circuit it is an excellent varmint and predator round and, with quality hunting bullets, a capable deer and antelope cartridge for shooters who value precision over raw power.
Barrel, Finish and Trigger
This rifle uses a 24″ threaded barrel, so you can add a suppressor or muzzle brake where they are legal. Desert Shadow uses tan and light brown tones that disappear in arid country, sagebrush and open plains.
Who Is the Seekins Havak Pro Hunter 2 6mm Creedmoor Desert Shadow For?
This configuration shines in PRS and NRL-style matches, tactical training and long-range steel practice, where low recoil lets you spot your own impacts and fix misses fast. With the right bullets it also works for predators, varmints and deer-sized game.
Setting Up Your Rifle
Most shooters top the Seekins Havak Pro Hunter 2 6mm Creedmoor Desert Shadow with a quality riflescope in the 3-15x to 5-25x range, depending on how far they expect to shoot. The integral Picatinny rail gives you a rigid, repeatable mounting point; pair it with a set of Seekins scope rings or a one-piece mount so everything is machined to the same high standard. Keep a spare Seekins AICS Short Action Magazine loaded in your pack so you are never caught short. A solid bipod, a rear bag and a good sling complete the setup.
